Provide examples where international standards might advance clinical discoveries
I’m studying and need help with a Health & Medical question to help me learn.
Write a 150-300 words on each discussion questions.
Discussion 4-1: If you are unfamiliar with EHRs conduct a search and respond to the following statement:
An EHR is generated and maintained within the health care organization to facilitate patient care.
Is the EHR viewed positively by patients and by insurers? What are the advantages and disadvantages to each group?
Discussion 4-2: Do you agree or disagree with the following:
1.Electronic health records improve workflow processes.
2.Electronic health records reduce costs.
Please support your responses with a reference.
Discussion 5-1: What is aggregate patient data? Who uses it and how is it used? Provide examples in your response.
Discussion 5-2: It is said that 75% of bad-quality data is caused by data-entry errors. You are a supervisor in the patient billing area. What are some of the things you might do to improve data-entry procedures and reduce operator errors?
Discussion 6-1: Define “high quality data” within the context of the health care industry. Why is the acquisition and maintenance of data more important to health care organizations than it might be to companies in other business sectors? Please cite a reference source for your response.
Discussion 6-2: In the textbook, Tan and Payton state that business intelligence (BI) can be a competitive advantage for a health care organization. What is BI and how can it be used to attain a competitive advantage? Use the mini-case “The Metropolitan Medical Group,” found in chapter 10 of the textbook, as the basis for your response. Please cite your resources to support your position.
Discussion 7-1: Explain some of the reasons that practitioners have been resistant to new technologies. How important of a role do you think practitioner resistance has played in the health care organization’s adoption of technology? Please support your position with a reference.
Discussion 7-2: In the textbook, Tan and Payton state: “International standards in healthcare information systems have provided the pivotal backbone to integrating clinical knowledge discovery.”
Explain what this statement means and provide examples where international standards might advance clinical discoveries. Support your response with a reference other than the textbook.
Discussion 8-1: Put on your “customer hat” and visit a hospital website of your choice (and do not forget to cite your selection at the end of your posting). What eHealth options did you find? Do you think this particular hospital exploits eHealth to maximum advantage? What functionality or information would you add to this hospital’s website to improve eHealth services?
Discussion 8-2: Imagine that you are a public health advocate residing in a country outside of the United States. Present one or two examples of social, cultural, or political barriers to eHealth adoption in your country. How would you address these barriers to secure buy-in from governmental authorities? Please support your position with a reference.
***Book used is: Adaptive Health Management Information Systems: Concepts, Cases, and Practical Applications by: Joseph Tan and Fay Cobb Payton. You can find the book in google scholar.
****You can find the answers in the book for assistants. For discussion 4-1 & 4-2 the reading is over chapters 7 and 8. For discussion 5-1 & 5-2 the reading is over chapters 9 and 10. For discussion 6-1 & 6-2 the reading is over chapters 11 and 12. For discussion 7-1 & 7-2 the reading is over chapters 13 and 14. For discussion 8-1 & 8-2, Read Cases 1-5 (pages 339 -390). I hope this helps. Here is the link just in case (hopefully it works): https://books.google.de/books?hl=en&lr=&id=Z3-f8pp…
*****I have also attached the lecture notes to assist if need be.
Assignment: Unfamiliar with EHRs
Assignment: Unfamiliar with EHRs
You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.
Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
